Backpacking tent
A backpacking tent is a convenient piece of equipment in the wilderness. It will protect you from precipitation and wind.
Tent features
In fair weather, most tents work fine. However, for more demanding trips in windy and cold environments, well designed high quality tents may be more appropriate. A high quality tent has to be strong, reliable, comfortable, and work well in variable weather conditions. In order to feel comfortable when sleeping in the outdoors, it's important that you remain dry and have enough of space. Tents come in a variety of types and designs to choose from, each one designed for a specific purpose.

Care
Tents should be thoroughly dried before they are stored. Just like a sleeping bag, let your tent hang out after each trip. Furthermore, dry the poles and pegs, as they can corrode if stored wet. If it needs washing - which is rare - wash it gently with warm water. Always store your tent in dry conditions.
